​LATERAL ARM AWNINGS

In the past lateral awnings meant that they were hand cranked and ran the full length of the area to be covered to spread out the load. Today the modern version is most often motorized and can be manipulated by home automation or by remote control. These awnings are also known as deck awnings and patio awnings. These are excellent for covering a large outdoor space like areas as large as 25 or more feet.​

RETRACTABLE PATIO COVERS

One of the newest products in the retractable awnings industry is the patio cover or patio awning. Many of these are water proof, can handle moderate winds and can be fitted with enclosures on the sides and front using solar shades proving shade for patio environments.​

DROP ARM AWNINGS

Also, known as retractable side awnings are often used to shade windows. These come with a roller-tube at the top, with spring loaded side arms and a tape-pull or crank motor. This type has been in use for well over 100 years.

Waagmeester Canvas Products have a wide variety of fabric designs that will complement the exterior of your home. Each awning is constructed with 42% fiberglass and 58% PVC material making it inherently stronger, keeping it from distorting as it is rolled in and out. Our material is also rot and fade-proof for a longer life. You and your family will be protected from harmful UV-rays. The shading coefficient percentage is 19% meaning less heat from the sun will travel through the material. No more scalding your feet on a sizzling patio.

​Quality is important, and what makes Waagmeester awnings a customer favorite is the integrity of our products. Designed and created in the Pacific Northwest, we use a one of a kind Lateral Arm system proven to withstand any weather conditions that our awnings may encounter. Our retractable awnings are housed in a 1/8” thick, anti-corrosion aluminum frame. We use aluminum because it is light weight and resistant to corrosion. Our boxed beam frames mean that the structure of our retractable aluminum awnings are far more sturdy than other aluminum options out there, such as 1/8“ wall, square tubing, T5 and 1” old school aluminum frames.
